About
Kylie Nichols is a Sculptor and Installation artist. Nichols' art practice explores everyday natural and manufactured objects, drawing on science and the human condition.
In Nichols latest ceramic works, the object's colours are paired back to soften the focus. Playing with the perceptual construct attempts to influence how the viewer perceives the object.
She often employs casting and mould making, as she is fascinated by the dichotomy of liquid to solid states. Material investigation and process are both crucial components in the development of her work.
Nichols has a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design and was a residency recipient at the Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China (Helpmann Academy) in 2019. Finalist, Unley Art Prize 2021. Based in Adelaide, South Australia, her work is held in numerous private collections.
